Wet Feet

Keep your land dry while saving yourself… and maybe others too!

In "Wet Feet", the sea is rising and you must keep your land dry while managing flooding polders. Will you play selfishly or cooperate? The player with the most dry spaces wins, but if the board floods, everyone loses. The game starts with intentional inequality (not everyone gets equal land or resources) reflecting real-world divisions. You must negotiate, convince others to help, and decide: protect only yourself or work together to keep the entire board dry? Smart strategy and diplomacy are key to staying above water.

Game through culture

"Wet Feet" emerged from watersnoodramp archive images showing inequality during crisis. Photos of helpless animals (ducks, horses,…) unable to speak for themselves sparked our focus on systemic unfairness. Inspired by Flevoland's unique geography, we designed each player to start at different levels with unequal advantages, mirroring how crises amplify existing inequalities. The game embodies the EU value of equality by forcing players to confront these disparities as rising water threatens everyone, challenging them to balance self-interest with collective survival.
