Everything in Modification

What stories do our cultural artifacts really tell? Question the narrative, choose your freedom.

A vitual reality puzzle game exploring cultural narratives and freedom through Krøyer's painting "Skagensjægerne." You reassemble shattered pieces while an authoritarian voice demands the "correct" version. Multiple assembly options exist, but the narrator insists on conformity. This reverse puzzle challenges players to question cultural narratives and assert their agency against imposed interpretations.

Game through culture

Players engage with P.S. Krøyer's idealized "Skagensjægerne" as fragmented puzzle pieces, confronting how cultural heritage can be manipulated to present false realities. Through an authoritarian narrator demanding conformity, the game reveals how cultural narratives are constructed and imposed, empowering players to question and resist biased interpretations of their heritage.
