ReStory

Clean up culture, restore heritage, and remove overconsumption from Rump's romantic landscape.

An immersive augmented reality puzzle-adventure set within Gotfred Rump's "View at Vejle Fjord" painting. You remove modern overconsumption objects, like fast fashion, electronics, and plastic waste, scattered throughout the romantic landscape. Using tactile grab-and-remove mechanics, each disposal restores environmental harmony while reflecting on consumption habits and cultural values of thrift versus excess.

Game through culture

Players engage with Gotfred Rump's romantic landscape disrupted by modern overconsumption symbols. By removing fast fashion and plastic waste from the historical painting, they actively restore romantic values of thrift, morality, and craftsmanship. This transforms cultural heritage from passive observation to active restoration, critiquing contemporary consumption through historical aesthetic ideals.
